Monroe County Cops ‘n’ Kids Literacy Program:

  • Ensures that every child in Monroe County has access, in his or her home, to books and the knowledge, inspiration and hope that this access can provide.
  • Encourages positive relationships between children, community and law enforcement.
  • Inspires creative learning for children and families by providing meaningful literacy-based experiences.
  • Assembles community members to share the responsibility of social and educational development, ensuring that ll children have the opportunity to explore their full potential.

Cops ‘n’ Kids is a national program founded in 1997 in Racine, Wisconsin by Police Officer Julia Burney-Witherspoon.
